FIDES is looking for a Data Scientist with an active Top Secret Clearance and prior cloud experience.

The Cloud Data Scientist is responsible for extracting actionable insights from complex datasets using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data science, extensive experience with AWS, Databricks, and Microsoft, and a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions to real-world problems. Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems and develop data-driven solutions using AWS/Databricks/Microsoft.
  • Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms to analyze large-scale datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to understand trends, patterns, and correlations in the data.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models and algorithms in production environments using Databricks MLflow.
  • Evaluate model performance and make iterative improvements to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and compelling data visualizations and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility. 
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Experience with advanced machine learning techniques such as neural networks and Generative AI.
  • Proficiency with AWS/Databricks/Microsoft, including experience with Runtime, MLflow, and Notebooks.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as Pandas.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other cloud-based machine learning platforms such as Amazon SageMaker or Microsoft.
  • Understanding of NLP Knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Cloud certification or other relevant certifications.
