Description
FIDES is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the installation of a new Blood Bank facility. This role will oversee facilities construction, equipment installation, regulatory compliance, and operational integration. The Project Manager will collaborate with clinical leaders, IT teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver a state-of-the-art blood bank facility. This is a high-visibility position requiring strong healthcare project management expertise and knowledge of regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for the blood bank installation, from initiation through go-live.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
- Coordinate with hospital leadership, laboratory staff, IT, and third-party vendors (including SCC Soft).
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards (FDA, AABB, CLIA, and local regulations).
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of blood bank equipment and systems.
- Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and change requests while maintaining project scope and timeline.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders across all levels.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare laboratory or clinical facility projects.
- Proven experience leading complex projects involving laboratory equipment installation and workflow integration.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with large-scale blood bank or biobank projects (e.g., Mayo Clinic or similar institutions).
- Familiarity with multi-vendor installations and IT integration for laboratory systems.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles in healthcare or clinical settings.
